Effective date: 3 October 2026
Governing law: India
Jurisdiction: Delhi NCR
InstaSetu ("InstaSetu", "we", "us", "our") operates a personal shopping and errand-companion service across Delhi NCR, connecting you with a verified companion for market runs, pickups, queue standby, hospital visits, airport and railway transfers, and other personal errands. This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect through our website and app, how we use and share it, and the rights you have over it.
01 Who we are
InstaSetu is operated by [REGISTERED_BUSINESS_NAME], with its registered office at [REGISTERED_ADDRESS]. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, we act as the data fiduciary / data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
02 Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what's generated as you use the service, and what a companion records while completing your booking.
Information you give us
- Name, phone number, and email address when you create an account or make a booking
- Pickup, drop-off, and task addresses for the service you've booked
- Payment details, processed through our third-party payment gateway (InstaSetu does not store your full card or UPI credentials)
- Details you share about a specific task — for example, a shopping list, prescription details for a pharmacy pickup, or special instructions for an elderly or first-time traveller booking
- Any message, call, or support ticket you send us
Information collected automatically
- Device information (device type, operating system, app version)
- Approximate or precise location, when you grant location permission, used to match you with a nearby companion and to show live task tracking
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent, crash logs
Information generated during a booking
- The companion's live location during an active task, shared with you for tracking and safety
- Booking history, task status updates, and the rating/feedback you leave
- Call or chat records between you and your companion placed through the app (where routed through InstaSetu's masked-number system)
03 How we use it
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account, and let you book, track, and pay for a companion
- Match you with a suitable, nearby, verified companion
- Process payments and send booking confirmations, receipts, and status updates
- Provide customer support and investigate complaints or safety incidents
- Improve the reliability of matching, pricing, and the app experience
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or activity that violates our Terms of Service
- Send service updates, and — only with your consent — offers or promotions, which you can opt out of at any time
- Meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations
04 Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary to run the service:
| Recipient | What's shared & why |
| Your assigned companion | Your name, phone number (often masked), pickup/drop address, and task details needed to complete your booking |
| Payment gateway partners | Transaction details required to process your payment securely; InstaSetu does not see or store full card/UPI numbers |
| Cloud hosting & analytics providers | Data needed to run and secure our servers and understand app performance, under contractual confidentiality terms |
| Law enforcement & regulators | Only where legally required — for example, in response to a valid court order or to investigate a safety incident |
| A buyer, in a business transfer | If InstaSetu is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this policy |
05 Companion verification data
If you apply to become an InstaSetu companion, we additionally collect government ID proof, address proof, a photograph, and background-check results as described in our Trust & Safety process. This data is used solely to verify identity and eligibility, is stored separately with restricted access, and is retained only as long as needed for verification records and legal compliance.
06 Cookies & website tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used, via standard analytics tools. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some features of the site may not work correctly if you do.
07 How long we keep it
We retain booking and account data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Companion verification records are retained in line with applicable background-check and employment-record requirements. You can request earlier deletion as described in Section 9.
08 How we protect it
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted internal access on a need-to-know basis — to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
09 Your rights & choices
Subject to applicable law, you can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or outdated information in your profile
- Delete your account and associated personal data, subject to records we're legally required to retain
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time, via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us
- Withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings — note that live tracking and companion matching won't work without it
To exercise any of these, write to us using the contact details in Section 12. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10 Children's privacy
InstaSetu's services are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We'll post the revised policy here with an updated effective date, and for material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email.
